Homeroom

  Resources

Two homeroom parents are needed for each of our homerooms. The homeroom parents are expected to work together on all homeroom projects and events with the direct leadership of the homeroom teacher. The teacher must approve all activities involving the students in their class.

Homeroom parents, with the help of the other students’ parents in that class, will organize three classroom parties, Christmas, Valentines (except Grades 6-8) and end-of-year. They will organize one teacher/staff appreciation lunch, find two parents to give out candy during lunch for one Spirit Day, assist the teacher with the class auction item for the school auction, organize the fruit sharing for the classroom, and several other events the teacher may need help with during the year.

Homeroom parents are meant to be the teacher’s right hand persons when it comes to special activities in their classroom. Homeroom parents are not meant to do all the activities by themselves.  They should reach out to the other parents from the classroom to get them involved and assist as needed.

To sign up to be a homeroom parent for your child’s homeroom, simply sign up at the Home and School table at the Meet the Teacher/Info Fair on August 10th, or fill out the application that will be sent home in the first Family Envelope.

If more than two parents sign up for one classroom, two names will be drawn.
