Class of 2008, 8th grade boys completed another undefeated basketballseason with a come-from-behind, hard-fought victory over OMM in the
championship game of the SMG basketball tournament. The Eagles had to claw back from deficits of 8-18 and 15-24 in the first half to take the
lead 29-28 late in the third quarter. After OMM regained the lead 30-29, the champion Eagles rattled off the final 17 points of the game
to win 46-30, and complete a 22 - 0 record in their final season as SJS Eagles!!!
This class of boys has lost only one basketball game in their 3 years at St. John (6th grade through 8th). With this year's undefeated season,
the SJS Class of 2008 has now gone undefeated, un-tied in soccer, football and basketball.
The 8th grade girls basketball team also completed a highly successful season taking second place in both the regular season and the
tournament. After getting knocked into the challenge bracket by a talented Holy Trinity team, the lady Eagles fought their way back to the
championship game by playing 3 games in less than 15 hours. The wear and tear of the challenge finally caught up and the Eagles succumbed to
the first place team again, where they proudly took second place!
Congratulations to the class of 2008 athletes!!!!
